Books , books , books ....
Do we ever consider the millions upon millions of printed lines we consume in a lifetime ? The ability to translate the written letter into thought , contemplation . It is amazing . Like an ol fella told me though , and as others know , you can only form an opinion based upon the facts you've received . Do YOU " step outside the box " ? Do you question things or do you just kinda go with the flow ... whatever's popular and not controversial ?

Something stuck in my mind over the years when one of my uni teachers told me: Just because it is printed does not mean its true. When I was young I used to believe that whatever was written in newspapers and books was the gospel truth.
Now we can say just because its on the internet it does not mean it is accurate.
Sometimes I watch Glenn Beck (CNN) just to understand US politics. There are so many viewpoints out there. I try to read as many books as I can but its difficult to get to the truth. There can be so many interpretations of the same event. There is also the question of perception (cultural, social, etc...) that can alter our viewpoints. Who can say for sure they know the Truth. Scholars are now saying that even the Bible is not always accurate. What's left to believe in? All I know is the older I get, the more I see and read the more I know that I am a complete ignorant....
I think over the years we aquire the ability to see thru the fog they generate , if our search is persistent . From what I've read of your comments over the months , I believe you to be right knowledgable on issues .
I've always been of a suspicious nature . I will check out all sides of an equation to be certain .
Guess you know how I feel about the " learned scholars " who discount the validity of the Bible . It has been in my peoples history for too long and proven itself to my satisfaction too often to be ignored . Their trashing of it is nothing new and does nothing but reinforce my beliefs .
Nothing worthwhile in life is free , or easy ... so goes the saying . Makes aquisition that much sweeter to those who strive .
I consider alot of what they feed us as " good news " nothing but dross , to confuse and misdirect our attentions and efforts . Hence my convictions that politics by and large are nothing but a show . The program overall never changes despite promises to the contrary .
