I'd like to first off mention that I've noticed South Africa Sucks blogsite has run into more problems this morning ... in case anyone else has noticed . I dumped my temporary files and now nothing will come thru . Troubles running the blog , troubles from without .... who knows . We'll just have to keep an eye open - it's happened before .
----------------------------------------------
While I certainly have nothing against families and loved ones gathering together
( I'm all for it ) , why do some insist they're honoring the supposed time of Christ's birth ? And just how do they express this concern 'n care ? Getting drunk , going further into debt by buying yet more useless sh@t that is not needed .
...........................
Tis the season to be pressured - by friends , family , the media . You must do your duty for it is preordained that you must run up a big pile of bills that will take you half of next year to pay off - including the interest ( snicker ! ) . What kind of loving husband , father ( or mom for that matter ) is it that would deny their siblings yet more junk that's absolutely unneeded and will probably be broken or forgotten in a weeks time ? You know they will squall like the spoiled brats they are if not suitably placated . Christmas is a cheap placebo for the detailed attention we fail to give our true problems .
..........................
We are a very unappreciative people , by and large , taking much for granted in our daily lives that so many others world wide would be ever so thankful for . We continue with our window dressing games and pretend all is well as beforetimes .
But it's not ....
.........................
What will we do in our hour of greatest need , when we really come to understand the state of affairs that we're rushing headlong into ? What will we tell our hungry families then ? How will we explain the lack of preparations on our part insofar as being able to repel those who would take what little we do have ? Hunger and complete lawlessness have a way of stirring a populace to desperate measures .
.............................
Is it not time we all reevaluate our situations , determine that which is really important in life ? A solid home environment , grounded in love and I would encourage Christian dedication , is hard to destroy or degrade . Start to weed out unnecessary expenses and unfruitful adventures , redirect our attentions to what will pay off in the long run . If only we could see the occurances of tomorrow / next week / next year NOW , how much differently would we react TODAY ? But most of us already know what's heading down the road our way .
...........................
How clear is your foresight ? What will be YOUR excuse for coming up short handed tomorrow ?

Great points/thoughts Jeff.
Very few Christians are aware that the holiday known as "Christmas" has absolutely no basis in the Bible (ie, we are never told to celebrate the birthday of Yahshua the Messiah, and Dec. 25th is not even remotely close to the time of His birth as recorded in the Biblical texts).
"Christmas" originated when the Catholic Church "Christianized" ancient pagan holidays around the winter solstice (eg, "Saturnalia" and others).
Regarding gifts...especially given the times we are in, the most prudent would be something like non-hybrid seeds, water filters, ammo, or other "survivalist" supplies.
Yer right Lone Wolf , there is no substantiation for celebrating Christmas as Christ's birthday .
I was noting too the hypocrisy of folks who all year have no concern for Godly matters , all of a sudden want to "make note of Jesus". And even then , they'll not be serious about it .
( thinking of my kin )
Sure sounds like I'd enjoy being on yer Christmas list ... my kinda presents ! Stuff we'll surely need .
We can tell our ladies it's quite simple - couple cases of 308 and I'm a happy man !
