Soft and unprepared

Soft ... as we're not as rugged and independant a people as we once were ,

..........

and unprepared ... not just in a physical sense but our mindsets as well . Most cannot even fathom the things of which we speak . We are not prepared for this ride over the edge that's coming up .

How much of a calamity would it take to convince most folks to pack it in , to do whatever and submit to whomever it takes to "get by" ? To rat out a friend and justify it in their mind ? With some that line in the sand would come when they took their beer or twinkies away . Are we really convinced of how deeply rooted our convictions go , or don't ? Have you ever really thought of the screws that will be turned in order to get you to " see things their way" ?

We take alot of blessings for granted on a daily basis .... every time we switch a light on or turn a water faucet on . That hot shower or sumptious meal waiting on the table are dreams only for alot of folks . The list could go on all day for we don't realize the half . We in the states don't heed the warnings of kinsmen in places such as South Africa , although we're rapidly being driven down that same road .

Are we waiting for the 6 'o clock news to update us on the perils we face , the designs they have against us or the corrals they're herding us into ? We've had to learn to read between the lines to some extent , but by and large it's done right in our faces . And we're so duped and preoccupied with no end of nonsense that we could really care less . My , how the times are gonna change .

What kind of havoc could be caused by the removal of the key bridges across our mid U.S. rivers , another escalation in prices or restrictions of our fuel supplies .... electrical supply .... food ? With a national crisis of some sort , it is not hard to envision military intervention and restructuring taking place .

We already know foreign troops have trained here but for what purpose ? Why is their equipment here ?

Supposing we are heading for national upheaval , would another nation (power) take advantage of our weakened state at that time to "help themselves" ? Is it unthinkable ? Why do we suppose such things could never happen here ?

While I'm a firm advocate of physical and mental preparation , I think that need extends into the field that most neglect and I consider primary importance - the spiritual . Once we fully comprehend the odds and enormities stacked against us , I believe we will cry out . Let us turn back to our God while yet He will listen and while yet we have time . Let us be broken in spirit before Him rather than before our captors who know not mercy .
