Striking a balance

I've never been a hard to please person . I believe in that old adage - lifes simple pleasures are the best . While some will struggle and sweat blood 'n tears to acquire what really matters not , the material things are certainly not as bountiful in returned dividends such as peace of mind and contentment that is derived from truly understanding what is of most importance.

( well , give us guys a break as far as weapons are concerned ...
for does one ever amass an arsenal where "enuff is enuff " ? Just one more rifle , one more case of ammo .... hey , it could be worse ! )

I'm grateful for the blessings God has bestowed upon me . No one would ever describe me as being rich or "sitting high on the hog" .... but I'm quite satisfied . I have a roof over my head that doesn't leak , whereas many know not where they will sleep tonight .

I have enough to eat that I don't go wanting ... clean water to drink . Enough work comes my way to keep me going but the money certainly doesn't pile up in great big heaps in the corner .... but all in all I have no complaints .

My wood pile is full , my truck runs just fine . My health is good , which is further evidence of Gods blessings and patience , for it seems I've tried hard in life to destroy it . I have righteous buddies who watch my back and who would not hesitate to wade into any situation wherein their help was needed - and me likewise for them .

I love the sound of rainfall on a tin roof , the soothing effects it imparts and the tranquility it provokes ( although my roof is now shingled , I remember it well ) . I have great appreciation for the beauty of nature and the eyes 'n mind God has given me to view and relish these things .

The beauty of our white women shows Gods perfection at work .
Help mates indeed , for without them we are not whole .
One can admire and revel in their immense beauty and feminine ways without reducing it to vulgarities and simple animalistic behaviours . They are a treasure to be shown respect and love that surpasses the barbaric ways of the stranger our people have learned to emulate .

The simplicity and innocence of well behaved children motivates one to strive for better conditions in this evil world in which they are raised . Their trust in us to care for them and keep them from harm should stir fatherly behavior in us all and kindle fires of righteousness to right the wrongs about us .

The Bible speaks of a peace of mind that surpasses understanding . Let us learn to be satisfied with the blessings and mercies already extended . Think of those who have so much less and yet they struggle on with determination . Learn what is really of utmost importance and pursue it for that very reason .

Philippians 4 : 3 - 13

( vs. 13 - " I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."

I Timothy 6 : 3 - 21

Hebrews 13 : 1 - 9

Hi Jeff, I really appreciated this post. what better than to have peace of mind and tranquility, to value bountiful nature as God created it,To enjoy good food and fine fruit, to be able to work at a job and earn your way (a real privilege)
Good fellowship just for fellowship's sake without ulterior motives knowing that friends are there for when the need arises.
True Worship of a magnificent Creator, the way he wants to be worshiped.
These are all things that lead to spiritual and physical healing, and all the rest is just extraneous matter that causes us to become entangled in the world of Satan and cause our demise.
Well done keep it up
