Indescribable

In my haste to get this particular link posted tonight, I will admit that I've only watched part 1 of a 5 part series. While cruising on South Africa Sucks blog (see link list), I noticed someone named "Consider this" had posted a YouTube link on a Christian discussion thread.
So far ... I love it ! Perhaps the audience wouldn't be receptive to the whole message of true Christianity as we know it, YET - but surely this flic will stir the heart of all but the hardest heart.
What little we have described of our God in His Word, what little we have grasped of Him in His universes ... are only a drop in the bucket.
Our God is indeed awesome ! Words will fail us everytime. Hope you enjoy.

Judging from negative responses to this flic in the comments on the original posting (SAS blog), I find it incredible that some folks just cannot seem to "get it".

Those of the never failing to embrace arrogance mindset, who think by their puny mental prowess they can encompass and explain all things of a Godly nature away in a manner that makes sense. It is truly utterly ridiculous that they think they've succeeded.

We cannot even begin to come close to
"getting our heads wrapped around" the deeper things of God, or to even approach the depths of "why".
And what come - uppance to attempt to do so.

This fella does an excellent job of explaining and expressing the scale of life as it really is in my opinion.

Let the heathen rage on I reckon ... it detracts not one iota from the awe in which I stand before my God.

My banner is clear

I'm part of the fellowship of the unashamed.
I have stepped over the line.
The decision has been made.
I'm a disciple of Jesus Christ.
I won't look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.
My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, my future is secure.
I'm finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees,
colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, cheap living, and dwarfed goals.
I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position,
promotions, plaudits, or popularity.

I don't have to be right, first, tops, recognized,
praised, regarded, or rewarded.
I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, lift by prayer, and labor by power.
My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven, my road is narrow, my way rough, my companions few, my Guide reliable, my mission clear.
I cannot be bought, deluded, or delayed.
I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.
I won't give up, shut up, let up, until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, preached up for the cause of Christ.

I am a disciple of Jesus.
I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till all know, and work till He stops me.
And when He comes for His own, He will have no problem recognizing me - my banner will be clear!

God is my rock and His armor protects me in the mighty name of Jesus.

It's quite basic and simple really...

Sanctification and Transformation comes NOT from STRIVING...

but from BEHOLDING...

BEHOLD the Wonders of God!

BEHOLD the Son of God!

BEHOLD the Word of God!

4given - wonderous words indeed ... for who can stand before our God and not be in absolute awe ! His majesty we cannot even begin to comprehend ! Thank you for your visit and your witness.

Guess I should of said - "judging from SOME of the negative responses ..." for they certainly were not all of a denialist nature.

God has His faithful and we will NOT be moved ! Stand up, stand up for Jesus - ye soldiers of the Cross !

I must have watched this flic 7 - 8 times already. Will probably watch again tonite.

Didn't realize at first that he is a preacher (isn't he ?),
and while I suspect we would have some difficulties in theology at best ... he does an A - 1excellent job in laying out the proper perspective.

I've long tried to "fathom" THE BEGINNINGS in times gone by and ya just cannot get yer head around it. The absolute starting point is not comprehensible.

There is NO way all this happened by chance or that our planetary existance holds together apart from Him.

How many of us in years past have spent countless hours marveling over His displays in the heavens ... even if we didn't give Him the glory ?

Deep within our hearts we know He's there ...

Hey Jeff

found this and wanted to share it with you ...

RELIGION vs. CHRISTIANITY

Religion is man's attempt to please God by adhering to rules and regulations.

[ Galatians 1:6-7 ]

Why are people drawn to religion?

- Provides a system of measurement

- It provides a false comfort

I am not a religious person because religion never works.

Problem with religion:

- It creates confusion

[ Galatians 1:7 ]

Break down the barriers and concentrate on the ONE thing that matters; that Jesus died on the cross for your sins.

[ Galatians 1:10 ]

- Religion focuses on man's work.

JESUS. Not Jesus PLUS being religious. It is JESUS no matter what!

The book of Galatians is all about breaking down the myth of religion.

RELIGION is spelled "DO" :

"You gotta do this, you gotta do that, gotta do it do it do it"

CHRISTIANITY is spelled "DONE" :

There is nothing left to do, when Jesus died on the cross for your sins, and when you accept that free gift of salvation, THATS IT! PERIOD! You do not have to do WORKS to gain His salvation.

RELIGION is man's attempt to reach God.

CHRISTIANITY is the opposite. It is God's attempt to reach man. It's Jesus loving us SO MUCH, that when we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. NOT when we were so good, but when we were sinners.

NOT US REACHING TO GOD, BUT GOD REACHING TO US.

RELIGION focuses on the external.

CHRISTIANITY focuses on the internal (what's inside your heart?)

God doesn't look at the exterior, He looks at the HEART.

Why are we doing the things we are doing?

I obey God not to gain His approval,
I obey God because of my sincere appreciation for what He has done.

How does this apply to me? [ Galatians 1:11-12 ]

If you look at every other world religion on the scene, every other religion that man has come up with, it all boils down to one thing, MAN trying to please the god. Man TRYING to gain approval, man TRYING to do this, man DYING, TRYING to please God.

Christianity is totally different. Christianity is God dying for the world, while we were yet sinners.

[ Galatians 1:13- 14 ]

"BUT WHEN GOD"

- But when God changes everything.

- There are people that feel so bad for what they have done, BUT WHEN GOD, comes into the scene, everything changes.

- It doesnt matter what you've done or how many times you've done it, BUT WHEN GOD.

- When Saul saw Jesus, everything changed.

- When you catch a glimpse of what Jesus has done for you, everything changes.

- When God speaks, the doctors are silent.

- Jesus did not come into the world to put us in bondage (RELIGION)

- Jesus didnt come into the world for us to live by a set of rules and regulations,
He came into the world for ONE purpose, to set the captives free.

- When you are free, you are free indeed!

-----------------------------

Religion bites! Remember that reading His word, praying, and just spending time with Him is what He longs for. Not your works and your constant battle of gaining His love. It's already been given to you. He wants to have a relationship with you, not religion. Anybody can be religious, but it's the HEART that God looks for. Take care and God bless!

Zero Tolerance - good to hear from ya. Sorry for the delay in responding - I get caught up in various endeavors (as do we all) and it slipped my mind. Thanks for your words and insight.

Seems to me your usage of the term
"religion" is in the same context we use
"churchianity", for it's by and large all a make believe world of emotional leanings bedecked with error.

They are more or less mere social clubs, where indeed they gather to pat one another on the back and "talk shop", or at best the very milk of the Word. Depth is not desired.

Where is their collective fruit upon our societies today ? What worth have they proven to be, except for maybe a temporary shot of delusional feel good that will not last for long ?
Exactly what word is it they preach ?

But this is the very crowd who has done away with the law of God (or so they think), yet they speak yet on sin. How do they define sin ?

1 John 3 : 4

Our keeping of the law does not make us righteous, nor is there salvation in it alone. But it our guide lines, our parameters ... for what other yard stick would we use ?

"The heart is deceitfully wicked ..."

If we follow what WE think is best by going on that warm, fuzzy feeling inside, how much different are we from the unbelievers ?

Our works will not save us, but faith without works is dead.
The faith hall of fame shines forth as a perfect example -
Hebrews 11.

"Think not that I've come to destroy the law or the prophets, I came not to destroy but fulfill." Christ was our kinsman redeemer. Indeed He purchased us back.

"Not one jot or tittle shall pass til all be fulfilled."

I've found 2 places in scripture where Christ plainly shows how we are to show Him our love -

John 14 : 15 -

"If ye love me, keep my commandments."

Obey His law - we're gonna follow SOMEONES law.

John 21 : 15 - 17 ...

"Feed my sheep."

Speak His Word, in season and out - when it's popular and when it's not. Pull no punches.

Understand I'm not poking at you but speaking in general terms - I think Peter fully understood how some folks would wrest the writings of Paul to attempt to negate even Jesus' teachings. And as the saying goes, Paul would be spinning in his grave over that.

He was a very learned and intelligent man.
Sometimes it seemed that he would use 4 chapters when only a paragraph or 2 might have sufficed ! But he tangled with some very intellectual people and he was up for the challenge.

He must be read in context and sometimes that means going back a chapter or 2. There is no real confusion or contradiction ...
but that it would arise was foreseen -

2 Peter 3 : 14 - 18

Take care man and God bless you 'n yours.
